Not all tungsten rings are created equal. Forever Metals Metal Jewelry Quality
Forever Metals produces and sells the very finest quality tungsten carbide rings available anywhere. Forever Metals uses only those elements and compositions having the highest quality and posts the compositions for all of our customers to review. Each ring is unique, and many of our rings are individually crafted to customer specifications.
The trends of body piercings has brought attention to those elements that oxidizes which causes rashes or irritate to the skin. Forever Metals does not sell inferior quality rings, and this is backed up with a return policy that allows our customers the opportunity to see and wear the rings for themselves. There are no questions asked if you wish to return a ring/band as long as it is within the return policy calendar. In addition, Forever Metals offers a lifetime warranty against breakage, chipping, or fracture of a stainless steel, titanium, or tungsten carbide ring. Since scratching is possible in titanium and stainless steel products due to normal wear, Forever Metals does not warrant the finish on a ring due to everyday wear, but does warrant against manufacturing and or shipping defects.
Forever Metals combines precious metals with tungsten carbide to create a unique piece of jewelry with a style, polish, and texture that will last a lifetime. We offer tungsten carbide wedding bands with precious metal inlays of sterling silver, platinum, yellow, white, gold, and copper. The tungsten carbide portion of the ring will maintain its original polish and luster for life, while the softer inlaid precious metals will eventually develop a textured appearance over time, creating an attractive contrast against the lasting polish of the tungsten carbide.
Tungsten Carbide Quality:
Forever Metals composition is 84% of tungsten and 16% of carbon and nickel. Our Tungsten Carbide rings are made with superior nickel-binder alloy instead of being made from pure tungsten or with the cobalt-binder alloy. Nickel-binder alloys are superior for several reasons; Nickel-binder tungsten carbide is hypoallergenic, chemically inert and therefore will not oxidize, cause rashes, or irritate the skin. We do not use the compound cobalt as it can have an adverse reaction with the wearer’s skin, sometimes causing a rash. Cobalt also bonds with oils in the skin resulting in oxidation. The oxidation appears similar to tarnished silver, but cannot be removed by polishing or grinding. Nickel, on the other hand, does not bond with oil and therefore does not oxidize. We have the confidence that all of our customers will truly be pleased with the overall endurance and brilliance of any of our rings produced with tungsten and nickel alloy.
Many jewelers offer pure tungsten wedding bands which lack the hardness of tungsten carbide and can scratch quite easily. Some offer tungsten rings made with cobalt binder because it is cheaper to produce than nickel-binder carbide. We caution you against buying from a jeweler that doesn't specify that their tungsten wedding bands are made with the nickel binder alloy only.
Commercially Pure Titanium Quality vs. Aircraft Grade Titanium Quality:
Forever Metals’ composition is Commercially Pure in all of our gray titanium products. We found it to be the ideal balance between titanium's hardness and functionality. It can be cut off, refinished, and engraved, yet it is resistant to marring and also polishes to its original brilliance. Forever Metals uses commercially pure titanium that has been endorsed worldwide.
Forever Metals does not endorse aircraft grade titanium due to personal safety issues. Aircraft grade titanium has more inconsistencies due to its level of impurities resulting in diminished luster and brilliance as compared to the commercially pure grade titanium.
Stainless Steel Quality:
Forever Metals composition for our stainless steel rings is 316L: 0Cr14Ni9Mo2. Our stainless steel rings are offered for their unique and rugged look, but they don’t provide quite the brilliance as does the Tungsten Carbide ring, nor does it have the light weight to hardness ratio that the titanium ring does. However, stainless steel does have a unique look that some individuals prefer, and the rings seem to last forever. For the cost, stainless steel rings may be a practical choice and offer a great alternative as groomsmen and graduation gifts. Last Updated: June 14, 2016
